Max von Pohl

Max von Pohl (* 1842 in Bolatitz , Upper Silesia , † May 7, 1905 in Schweidnitz ) was a German administrative lawyer .

Life

Pohl studied law in Breslau and Bonn . During his studies he became a member first of the Corps Silesia in Breslau and then of the Corps Guestphalia Bonn . From 1870 he was district administrator of the Ratibor district , from 1889 with the title of Privy Councilor. In April 1900 he became President of the Government of Opole , but suffered a severe stroke the following month, as a result of which he had to resign. He retired in November 1900 and has lived in Schweidnitz ever since.

The cities of Hultschin and Ratibor made him an honorary citizen .
