Konstantin von Quadt and Hüchtenbruck (District President)

Friedrich Karl August Ludwig Konstantin Freiherr von Quadt and Hüchtenbruck (born November 14, 1825 in Berlin ; † June 12, 1881 in Nassau ) was a Prussian lawyer, district administrator in the Hamm district (1856–1865), Landdrost in the Landdrostei Osnabrück in the Kingdom of Hanover ( 1869–1878) and district president in Opole (1878–1881).

Life

origin

His parents were the general of the infantry Konstantin von Quadt and Hüchtenbruck (1781–1868) and his wife Sophie, née von Bodelschwingh (1791–1855). His uncle Karl Heinrich von Quadt and Hüchtenbruck († 1850) was a Dutch major general.

Career

After graduating from high school in Torgau, Quadt studied law and cameralia at the universities of Berlin and Heidelberg , while doing his one-year service with the 2nd Guard Regiment on foot in the Prussian Army in 1843/44 . In 1844 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . At the Court of Appeal he passed the auscultation exam in 1845, the court trainee exam in 1847 and the court assessor exam in 1850. He then went to the governments of Münster and Minden and was appointed government assessor in 1851.

Since 1853 in the Ministry of Commerce von Quadt was transferred to the Oberpräsidium Koblenz in 1856 . In the same year he was appointed district administrator of the Hamm district. In 1863 he came to the Münster government as a senior councilor and department head. In 1869 he became Landdrost of Landdrostei Osnabrück . From 1878 he was the government president of the administrative district of Opole.

Quadt was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . He belonged to the historical association in Münster.

family

He married Friederike Caroline Wilhelmine Elise Auguste Luise von Bodelschwingh (* June 15, 1833 - September 15, 1905), a daughter of the Prussian State Minister Carl von Bodelschwingh , on June 28, 1856 at Haus Heyde . The couple had several children:
