Traugott Adalbert Ernst Graf von Baudissin (born June 16, 1831 in Projensdorf near Kiel , † May 2, 1905 in Eberswalde ) was a German administrative lawyer and government official .

From 1889 to 1897 Traugott von Baudissin was government president of the Prussian administrative district of Magdeburg in the province of Saxony .

Life

origin

He belonged to the noble family Baudissin , who originally came from Upper Lusatia and came to Schleswig-Holstein during the Thirty Years' War . His parents were Count Joseph Franz Christian von Baudissin (born January 9, 1797 - † April 5, 1871) and his wife, Countess Julia Friederike Josephina von Reventlow (* August 21, 1798 - † July 3, 1881).

Career

He completed a legal education at the University of Berlin . Then Baudissin worked in the legal service in Berlin , Frankfurt (Oder) and Guben . In 1865 he switched to the administrative service and became a bailiff in Flensburg and district administrator in Eckernförde . Between 1871 and 1875 he worked first in the Koblenz government and later in the Düsseldorf government . From 1878 he worked for the Magdeburg government and in 1886 was appointed district president in Opole. In 1889 he moved to Magdeburg as district president. He held this office there until 1897.

family

He married Adelaide Sophie Louise von Reventlow (born August 31, 1840, † July 24, 1894). The couple had several children including:

  • Marie Ottilie Adline (born September 26, 1872) ⚭ 1893 Karl Wilhelm Eduard von Jena (born March 28, 1834 - March 21, 1911), General of the Infantry
  • Theodor Christian Traugott (* July 9, 1874 - November 27, 1950) ⚭ Elise Anna von Borcke (* August 20, 1885 - October 21, 1950)
