Julius Saxler

Julius Saxler (born December 12, 1916 in Düsseldorf , † November 23, 1996 in Daun ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Saxler grew up in Ellscheid and attended school in Prüm , where he received his Abitur. During the Second World War he was a pilot and officer. After the war, he initially worked for the Upper Presidium of Rhineland-Hesse-Nassau. From 1947 to 1958 he was the mayor of Niederstadtfeld , after which he was mayor of the Daun office until 1973, and later of the Daun community . He was first elected to the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1955 . During his time as a member of the state parliament, Saxler had an influence on the regional reform at the time and the expansion of the Daun district . During this time he was also a member of the broadcasting council of Südwestfunk , from 1964 he was chairman of the committee. In 1973 he resigned his state parliament mandate to become regional president in Trier . In this office he made a contribution to the renovation of the Electoral Palace in Trier , the seat of the district government. He held the post until 1981. From 1976 to 1988 he was also chairman of the board of directors at Südwestfunk. Since 1948 he was born with Ruth Saxler. Feldges married. The marriage had four children.
