Carl von Fidler

Carl Wilhelm Ferdinand von Fidler (born December 6, 1856 in Berlin ; † November 17, 1927 in Dresden ) was a Prussian administrative lawyer , district administrator and district president in Erfurt in 1903/18 and in Frankfurt (Oder) in 1918/19 .

Life

origin

His grandfather was the Prussian Lieutenant General Ferdinand von Fidler (1791–1874), who was raised to hereditary Prussian nobility on June 7, 1856 . Carl was the son of the Prussian lieutenant colonel Hugo von Fidler (1823-1883) and his wife Henriette.

Career

Fidler graduated from the Andreanum in Hildesheim in 1876 . This was followed by a study of law and political science in Berlin and Bonn in 1876/81. After successfully completing his studies, Fidler began to work as a court trainee in Goslar and at the regional court in Berlin.

On October 19, 1888, Fidler was appointed district administrator in the Schleswig district . From October 12, 1899, he was provisional district administrator in Saarbrücken and was finally appointed district administrator and police director of Saarbrücken on May 15, 1900 .

On October 28, 1903, Fidler took up his position as district president in Erfurt and in 1918 switched to the post of district president in Frankfurt (Oder). He retired from this post in 1919 .

family

Fidler married Elisabeth von Eltester (1867–1888) on June 13, 1887 in Ichtershausen . His second marriage was on September 20, 1907 in Gerlachsheim with Freda von Brauchitsch (1873–1961).
