Career

Daniel Wernig was active as a youth player for VFL Goldstein before the right winger moved to TSG Münster in the A-youth . The youth and junior national team matured further with the Kelkheimers and was soon used in the men's team. With the German Handball Federation Wernig was 2004 junior vice world champion. This was followed by entry into the TSG professional squad and several seasons in the 2nd handball Bundesliga. After a short stop at DHC Rhineland , with whom he was active in the 1st handball league for a year, the left-hander was drawn back to TSG Münster in the summer of 2011. A year later he switched to TV 05/07 Hüttenberg , who had just been relegated from the 1st handball league.

With the Mittelhessen, Wernig even rose to the third division in 2015, only to bring the direct promotion back under one roof a year later. In the 2016/17 season, the TVH team and Daniel Wernig managed a sensational march through the second Bundesliga to the DKB handball Bundesliga .
