Career

Daniela Krückel started grass skiing at an early age. In 2004, 2007 and 2009 she won the overall ranking of the FIS pupil cup in her respective age group; In 2005, 2006 and 2008 she achieved second place overall in this racing series. In the 2008 season, Krückel also achieved second place overall in the MIDEU Cup. In 2009 she won the overall ranking of this racing series held in Austria and the Czech Republic. In addition, she was four times Austrian school master in 2009.

Daniela Krückel has been competing in FIS races since May 2010 and has already achieved several top 5 results. In June 2010 she became Austrian junior champion and at the same time vice state champion in slalom and giant slalom. At the beginning of August 2010, at the Junior World Championships in Dizin , she placed fourth in the giant slalom and fifth in the Super-G (at the same time as the Czech Petra Ivánková ) and in the super combination, placing them in the middle of the field. Only in the slalom was she eliminated after a material breakage. Also in Dizin, she competed in her first World Cup race on August 5, 2010 , but was disqualified in this giant slalom. Two and a half weeks later, she won her first World Cup points when she finished eighth in the Faistenau slalom . She was able to continue and finish this race despite a serious fall in the first run in which she broke through the safety net at high speed, but only crossed the finish line last because of the long time gap. After that, however, she did not contest any further races in the 2010 season and was 13th in the overall World Cup.

Krückel drove her next World Cup race on July 2, 2011 in Olešnice v Orlických horách . In this super combination, she achieved fifth place. Her best World Cup result of the 2011 season she reached fourth in the slalom of Předklášteří on August 7, 2011. With two more top 5 results, she was eighth of the overall World Cup. She performed well at the 2011 World Championships and the simultaneous Junior World Championships in Goldingen . In the junior division she won gold in slalom, silver in combination and bronze in giant slalom. She only had to be content with ninth place in the Super-G. At the world championships in the general class she came second in the super combined behind the Swiss Bianca Lenz ; she was tenth in the super-G. She did not take part in slalom and giant slalom. She also celebrated success at the national level with three junior championship titles in slalom, giant slalom and combined as well as three vice national championship titles in these disciplines.

In the 2012 season , Krückel achieved the first podium places in World Cup races: She came second in the first Super-G in Dizin and third in the giant slalom and in the second Super-G in Dizin. In the overall World Cup, she reached third place. At the Junior World Championships 2012 in Burbach , she won two silver medals in slalom and giant slalom.
