He spent most of his youth at América FC (SP) . After playing for the U-19 team of FC Schalke 04 for half a year , he began his professional career at Mirassol FC . There he could not draw attention to himself with good performances, so he moved to FC Santos and then back to his youth club, América FC (SP). In 2006 he was signed by Atlético Mineiro , who had just been relegated from the Brazilian Série A , and therefore wanted to build a new team consisting mainly of young players. He became a regular player immediately and was voted one of the best players in Série B at the end of the season .

Danilinho is a versatile player who is characterized above all by high speed and agility. He is very strong running and has both feet, with the right foot being the stronger, and can be used as a right midfielder , right winger , left midfielder , left winger , attacking midfielder and hanging point. His advances from the depths are very dangerous due to his good technique and ball handling at the same time as high speed.

In 2008 Danilinho made a name for himself at the state championships in Minas Gerais: In the second leg of the final he was sent off after an argument with his opponent Charles , who allegedly insulted his wife.

Despite his young age, Danilinho is already one of the most important players and alongside Marques is an idol among the fans. He is 1.64 m tall, weighs 60 kg and has also played for the Seleção U-20s .
