Danne Boterenbrood (born July 19, 1985 in Zwolle , Netherlands) is a Dutch triathlete and member of the national team.

Career

Boterenbrood studied medicine at the University of Groningen and lives with her boyfriend in Sittard , where the Dutch triathlon center is based. She is a lecturer in medicine at the University of Maastricht and starts for the clubs GSTV Tritanium and Triathlon Club Chateauroux .

In the seven years from 2004 to 2010 Boterenbrood took part in 15 ITU competitions and achieved three top ten placements.

In Germany, Boterenbrood joined the Bundesliga in 2009 for the Lemgo club . In addition, Boterenbrood started in 2009 as an elite reinforcement together with international stars such as Emma Moffatt and Olga Alexejewna Dmitrijewa for the French club Charleville Tri Ardennes in the prestigious French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux . At the Audencia triathlon in La Baule, for example, H. At the grand finale of the Lyonnaise series, Boterenbrood was only 30th in 2009, but was the third-best Charleville runner. Charleville also led Boterenbrood among its elite runners in 2010, but Boterenbrood did not take part in any of the five Lyonnaise competitions.

Boterenbrood took a leave of absence from Maastricht University for 2011 in order to devote himself entirely to sport and qualifying for London 2012 after the largely triathlon-free year 2010. In November 2012 she won the first edition of the Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote .

In 2014 she became national champion in the short triathlon distance and three weeks later in the sprint distance. In August 2016 she became national runner-up on the triathlon sprint distance.

In Norway, the then 34-year-old won the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon on the long distance in August 2019 .
