Career

Danny Fresh began his musical career as an MC, then still under the name D-Boy, in 1993 with the hip-hop crew W4C (Warriors for Christ), together with the singer and producer Ruben Rodriguez and the DJ PL Peter Pan. After less than a year, the first demo tape, Take a Look, was self-distributed. Although he was still partly rapping in English at the time, he soon decided on the German language. Another year later, W4C released the first pressed demo CD, also self-distributed, Lord Take Care . In 1997 the first official EP from W4C was released, followed by the first album Not 2 Diss U in 1998 , the song I'll Be Around of which was released as a single via Sony Music.

Although Danny appeared as Danny Fresh on Not 2 Diss U , the first solo project, Question-Answer , appeared in 2000 under the name D-Boy . After a break, the next W4C album OST did not follow until 2003, accompanied by various single releases. The last release with W4C was the album Immer Noch in the summer of 2005.

In 2002, Danny Fresh began working with other bands and projects outside of the local Böblingen scene for the first time and was on the sampler Platform Records (2002), the album by the former Söhne Mannheim singer Rolf Stahlhofen Time to change (2003) and on represented both singles and the album of the all-star project Zeichen der Zeit (2003/2004). The single "You are not alone" by "Zeichen der Zeit" entered the top ten of the German single charts.

2005 Danny Fresh was a feature on Xavier Naidoo Album Telegram for X to be heard. In 2006 Danny Fresh released his first solo album Veni , which he was able to present as tour support for Xavier Naidoo in D / A / CH. The second album Vidi of his album trilogy was released in 2007 and contained features with Xavier Naidoo, Pal One , Tone and Bintia , the third album Vici was released in 2009. Then Danny Fresh took a longer release break and devoted himself to his master's degree, as well as building up his rap workshop work and various social projects.

On August 7th, 2015 the new Danny Fresh album #losiegen was released .

Winnenden rampage

After the 17-year-old student Tim K. caused a bloodbath on March 11, 2009 in the Baden-Württemberg district town of Winnenden, Danny Fresh recorded the song "What can this day change" on the same day. The campaign alliance Amoklauf Winnenden, founded by relatives of the victims, made the song their motto song, which is also featured on the sampler "Love stays" for the benefit of the campaign alliance. On July 17, 2009, the song was performed for the first time as part of a charity soccer game with a traditional team from VfB Stuttgart to commemorate the victims and to support the “Winnenden Amok Alliance” in Leutenbach near Winnenden.

Recordings (selection)

Danny Fresh and the radio station big FM received the LFK Media Prize in 2014 for their contributions to the 2013 federal election. The jury judged Fresh's daily rap on the election programs of the major parties: “The subject of the federal election is tackled in a linguistically clear manner and very coherently for the target group . A convincing campaign by a youth broadcaster for first-time voters. Refreshing in shape and yet also factual with a good groove. Information in a completely different way, well packaged and appropriately presented. "
