Danny Pate (born March 24, 1979 in Colorado Springs ) is an American cyclist .

Career

Godfather became a professional for the Italian cycling team Saeco in 2000 . After a weak year in which Pate was not particularly satisfied with the racing program planned for him and, according to the sports management , he did not integrate into the team due to a lack of knowledge of Italian, his contract was not extended. Godfather then became a member of the smaller US team Prime Alliance and subsequently drove for smaller US teams. At the 2001 World Championships , he won the U23 individual time trial title ahead of German Sebastian Lang .

For the 2006 season, Godfather joined the Continental Team TIAA-CREF , which in 2007, under the name Team Slipstream powered by Chipotle, obtained a license as a Professional Continental Team and in 2008 received a license as a ProTeam . Since then he has been driving with teams of the highest category and has participated in all three “Grand Tours” . Godfather from whom u. a. David Millar assumes that he always drove without doping support , is considered an important helper who u. a. supported both Mark Cavendish in sprint finals and Bradley Wiggins in the battle for round trip victories.
