history
Dansweiler was first mentioned in 1028 in a property list of the Lorraine Count Palatine Ezzo. Similar to Brauweiler, the place name has the ending Weiler , which could be derived from the Latin villare .
In the Middle Ages, both the Brauweiler Abbey and the St. Gertrud Monastery in Cologne owned significant property in Dansweiler. Dansweiler came to the Mairie Freimersdorf in the canton of Weiden , which belonged to the Arrondissement de Cologne in the Département de la Roer . In 1815 Dansweiler came to the Kingdom of Prussia and a year later to the municipality of Brauweiler. Since January 1, 1975 the place is part of the city of Pulheim.
