Career

Darcy Verot began his career as a hockey player with the Weyburn Red Wings, for which he was active from 1994 to 1997 in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League . The winger then signed his first professional contract and played for the Lake Charles Ice Pirates in the Western Professional Hockey League for two years . After starting the 1999/2000 season with the Wheeling Nailers from the ECHL , he played almost exclusively in the American Hockey League for the next eight years , where he worked for the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins , Saint John Flames , Portland Pirates and Syracuse Crunch stood on the ice. Only in the 2003/04 season he came to 37 missions for the Washington Capitals from the National Hockey League , in which he prepared two goals.

From 2007 Verot was under contract with Vitjas Chekhov in Russia, for which he played in his first season in the Superliga and since its admission to the newly founded Continental Hockey League for the 2008/09 season in the KHL was on the hunt for goals. The Canadian was considered a very tough player in Russia, so he was the player with the most penalty minutes in the Superliga and the KHL in the 2007/08 and 2009/10 seasons with 511 and 374 penalty minutes respectively. After the 2010/11 season, his contract was not extended.

In mid-September 2011, Verot was signed by HC Oceláři Třinec from the Czech Extraliga , but only played one game in the Czech Republic. Then he returned to the KHL and completed 16 games for HK CSKA Moscow .
