Darja Leonidowna Wirolainen ( Russian Дарья Леонидовна Виролайнен ; born January 24, 1989 in Moscow ) is a Russian biathlete .

Darja Wirolainen, daughter of Anfissa Reszowa , made her international debut at the 2010 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Duszniki-Zdrój . In the junior races she was fifth in the sprint race from roller skis and improved to first place in the pursuit race based on it thanks to a faultless shooting performance. The Russian competed in the IBU Cup from the 2010/11 season . In her first race, a sprint in Obertilliach , she was eleventh, in the pursuit race that followed she improved to eighth place and thus to a first single-digit position. In Annecy , she was able to improve her personal best to sixth place. In the season's overall ranking of the pursuit races as well as the individual she reached tenth places, in the overall ranking of all races she was 23rd. The first international championship for women was the 2012 European championships in Osrblie, Slovakia . In the individual she came in 21st place.

After the 2014 Winter Olympics from Sochi moved Wirolainen in the Russian World Cup team. In her first outing in the top racing series, a sprint in Pokljuka , she barely missed an immediate victory behind Katharina Innerhofer, who was victorious for the first time in second place. Even before the games, Wirolainen had won the bronze medal in the pursuit of the 2014 European Biathlon Championships .
