Dario Robbiani (born March 9, 1939 in Mendrisio ; † December 14, 2009 in Lugano , resident in Novazzano ) was a Swiss television journalist and politician ( SP ).

Career

Robbiani began his political career in 1959 and was then twenty years the youngest mayor elected. From 1960 to 1969 he was in charge of the daily news for Italian-speaking Switzerland , which was produced in Zurich at the time, and then from 1969 to 1979 he was in charge of daily news at SRG in Zurich.

On November 26, 1979 he was elected to the National Council for the canton of Ticino and was appointed President of the SP Ticino in the same year. After joining the Socialist Renewal and Unification Movement in 1987 , he was expelled from the party. On November 29 of the same year he also resigned from the National Council.

In the 1990s he was appointed director general of Euronews in Lyon and was later briefly director of the fourth Swiss television network . Until recently he worked in a media consulting studio he founded.
