Katschanowa had her first international successes at the Junior World Championships 2015 in Warsaw . There she won the bronze medal in the team sprint and the silver medal over 500 m. The following year she won the silver medal over 1000 m and the gold medal over 500 m and in the team sprint at the Junior World Championships in Changchun . At the 2017 Junior World Championships in Helsinki , she won bronze over 1500 m and gold over 500 m and 1000 m. In March 2017 she became Russian champion in the sprint all-around in Chelyabinsk . She made her debut in the World Cup in January 2018 in Erfurt . There she achieved first place in the B group over 500 m and 1000 m and in the A group 20th place over 500 m and fourth place over 1000 m. In the same month she was at the European Championships in Kolomna seventh over 1000 m and fifth over 500 m. At the sprint world championships in Changchun in early March 2018, she finished 19th. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season she became Russian champion in the 500 m and 1000 m in Kolomna. At the World Cup in Tomakomai at the end of November 2018, she achieved her first podium finish in the World Cup with third place over 500 m. Third places over 500 m and 1000 m followed in Tomaszów Mazowiecki . At the all-around European championship 2019 in Klobenstein , she won the silver medal in the sprint all-around event. In February 2019, she won the bronze medal in the team sprint at the World Speed Skating Championships in Inzell . She also came in 11th place over 1000 m and eighth place over 500 m. At the end of February 2019 she finished seventh at the Sprint World Championship in Heerenveen . She finished the season in sixth place in the overall World Cup over 500 m and fifth in the overall World Cup over 1000 m.
