The Halloween Monster , also known by the original title Pumpkinhead , is an American horror film from 1988. The film was the directorial debut of Stan Winston .

content

Several teenagers go on vacation in the backcountry and want to spend their time having fun and relaxing when Ed Harley's son dies in an accident and one of the boys is involved. In revenge, Harley goes to a witch who, at his request, brings to life a monster called Pumpkinhead, who hunts the youngsters. Harley soon regrets his decision and tries to stop the monster.

The film was nominated for the Saturn Award in three categories , including Lance Henriksen for Best Actor .

Sequels

The film has been followed by three sequels so far. In 1994, Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings was released and directed by Jeff Burr . Lance Henriksen did not return as a performer. In 2006 Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes was released directly on DVD, starring Doug Bradley and Lance Henriksen. The film was directed by the British Jake West . In 2007, the fourth part was released, entitled Pumpkinhead: Blood Feud , also with Lance Henriksen.
