The Ballad is a thriller of directors Oliver Berben , Gerd Roman Frosch and Carl-Friedrich Koschnick in 2000. In the lead role embodies Iris Berben the beautiful and passionate, but also unscrupulous Lea Hoffmann.

Lea finds the architect Maximilian very attractive, and her husband Paul has taken out a high life insurance policy of five million Deutschmarks in her favor. Lea successfully instigates Maximilian to kill her husband, who has become annoying to her, and then leads a luxury life with him. But then a detective appears and begins to ask the two uncomfortable questions.
