Grushenka Stevens (* 16th July 1974 in Cologne as Grace Simon ) is a German actress and singer .

Life

At the age of six, Stevens played a role in the movie An Afternoon in Cologne and then had a guest appearance on the children's program Die Sendung mit der Maus .

At the age of eleven she appeared in a play at the Schauspielhaus Köln and at the age of 17 went to New York City , where she took acting lessons in Herbert Berghoff's studios. She then attended the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York City, London and Los Angeles, where she got a role in a Canadian-German soap opera.

In No one loves me and Voll normaaal , she received her first small roles in German film in 1994. In 1995 she played the main role of the operator Conny in the erotic thriller The Cold Finger .

In 1999 Stevens embodied in Sherry Hormann's comedy Widows - First marriage, then pleasure a singer and in the drama Disappear from here directed by Franziska Buch an overwhelmed mother. The film was awarded the Max Ophüls Prize . As in the television series Around 30 , she again acted in 2001 under Ralf Huettner's direction in the film adaptation of the bestseller by Ildikó von Kürthy Mondscheintarif . In 2002 she returned to Germany to take up full-time studies in singing and composition, which she successfully completed in 2008. Since then, Gruschenka Stevens has also been working as a singer, songwriter and music producer under her stage name gg (pronounced: GiGi). She weaves classical compositions, mainly German composers, into her neo-hippie songs, which carry messages such as: B. "slave to economy".

Stevens always appears barefoot and with wreaths of flowers on her hair. Among other things, she appeared at the large Fridays for Future demonstration on World Climate Day 2019 in Essen, at the 25th anniversary of Greenpeace and for the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger in the Mülheim culture bunker. At the same time she continues to work as an actress.

In 2010 the episode Netzangriff from the series Krimi.de with Stevens in the role of Lena Mederling won the Rose d'Or in the Children & Youth category .
