action

The two teachers Malte and Liv are lovers. During their vacation together on Mallorca , both of them are attacked by three teenagers in their holiday apartment. Malte is knocked down and Liv is raped in front of his eyes.

Two years later: Malte tried to suppress the incident while at the same time increasing his ability to defend himself by giving boxing lessons. Liv went through therapy. By chance, Malte meets Sascha, his wife's rapist, in a snack bar in Cologne. He pursues him and his girlfriend, but loses track on the platform. His concentration as a teacher suffers, old wounds are torn open. Malte spends days on the platform until he rediscovered the tormentor and followed him to his apartment. In Sascha's absence, he kicks in his apartment door and realizes that he is leading an ordinary life, with a girlfriend and as an apprentice in a hardware store.

Sascha is standing in the doorway. He recognizes Malte and runs away. Malte can catch up with him and beat him down. Sascha threatens, should Malte ruin his life, he would kill him. The emotional burden of Malta is not hidden from Liv. When he tells Liv about it, she doesn't want to go through her suffering again and asks him to let it rest. However, Malte cannot simply forget and suppress the past, which puts a strain on the relationship with Liv. Even a lawyer gives them little hope for a conviction and a harsh sentence after two years.

Malte visits Sascha's friend Jenny, who works as a barmaid in a karaoke bar. He tells her about the rape of his wife by her boyfriend. She confronts him with the allegations, who then see Liv in her and Malte's apartment and threaten her. He too had secretly followed Malte home beforehand. The angry Malte wants to finally clear up the matter, but does not find Sascha in his apartment. He visits Jenny again in the bar, where Sascha attacks him from behind with a knife. Sascha flees into the street, Malte catches up with him and threatens to strangle him, but can be stopped at the last moment by convincing Liv.

When Sascha says he has nothing to apologize for, Liv bursts her collar. She grabs his knife and stabs him in the torso. Malte and Liv decide to take Sascha to a hospital, where his life will be saved.

At home, Malte and Liv then let their frustration and relief out in that they laughingly demolish their apartment.

criticism

"The film spares the viewer nothing in the first ten minutes"

- programmkino.de

“Maximilian Brückner is convincing because he shows Malte in all of his human overload. Luise Heyer, on the other hand, has to be regarded as an expert on hurt souls after her roles in 'Jack', 'Hardness' and 'Fado'; Most recently she embodied the depressed mother Hape Kerkeling in the popular success 'The boy needs to get some fresh air'.
