The fourth commandment (English original title: Honor Thy Mother ) is an American television film from 1992, which was produced for CBS . The two-hour drama first aired on April 26, 1992.

action

The plot is based on the nonfiction book Blood Games by Jerry Bledsoe , which is about the murder of Lieth Von Stein in 1988. Twenty-year-old Chris Pritchard of Washington was convicted in 1990 for plotting to kill his stepfather Lieth and mother Bonnie von Stein in order to inherit. He had had a friend carry out the deed. The mother survived seriously injured and then protested her son's innocence. The case inspired several books and television productions at the time, so a month after Honor Thy Mother aired the two- parter Cruel Doubt on NBC , which was based on a competing non-fiction book.

The screenplay was written by Richard DeLong Adams and Robert L. Freedman. Sharon Gless was hired for the role of Bonnie von Stein, while Chris Pritchard was played by William McNamara .
