David Boehm
David Boehm (born February 1, 1893 in Brooklyn , New York , † July 31, 1962 in Santa Monica , California ) was an American screenwriter who was nominated for the Oscar for best original story.
Life
Boehm began his career in the Hollywood film industry in 1933 writing the social drama Employees' Entrance, starring Loretta Young , Warren William and Alice White, based on his stage work and directed by Roy Del Ruth . By 1960 he composed the scripts and templates for 24 films and television series .
At the Oscar ceremony in 1945 Boehm was with Chandler Sprague for the Oscar for best original story nominated, namely for the directed by Victor Fleming resulting war film Battle in the Clouds (A Guy Named Joe, 1943) with Spencer Tracy , Irene Dunne and Van Johnson in the lead roles.
The film was remade in 1989 by Steven Spielberg as Always - The Fire Angel of Montana with Richard Dreyfuss , Holly Hunter and Audrey Hepburn .
