Karl David Sebastian Dencik (born October 31, 1974 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish actor who has so far mainly appeared in Danish and Swedish films .

Life and career

Karl David Sebastian Dencik was born in Stockholm, Sweden , but grew up in Denmark. He then studied from 1999 to 2003 at the Teaterhögskolan in Stockholm.

After minor supporting roles, Dencik had his breakthrough in 2005 in the role of the Swedish serial killer John Ausonius in the television series Lasermannen . His portrayal of the transsexual Ulrik in the Danish love drama En Soap brought him several film awards, including a 2007 Robert in the category Best Actor .

After his appearance in the internationally acclaimed Stieg-Larsson adaptation Verblendung , Dencik also increasingly received roles in international productions. In 2011 he took on roles in Tomas Alfredson's agent thriller Lady, King, As, Spy , Steven Spielberg's World War I drama Companions and David Fincher's remake Verblendung . In 2017 he played the German villain in Top of the Lake China Girl .
