David Hans Christoph von Lüderitz

David Hans Christoph von Lüderitz (born November 16, 1699 on Nackel; † October 1, 1756 near Lobositz ) was a royal Prussian major general and commander of the cuirassier regiment No. 5 . He was also a knight of the Order of St. John and designated Commander in Lagow as well as the bearer of the Pour le Mérite , Canon of Brandenburg and Havelberg and also heir to Nackel.

His parents were Lüdecke Christoph von Lüderitz (* 1651; † 29 May 1718) and his wife Elisabeth Margarethe von Quast (* 3 April 1680; † 7 May 1705) from the Garz family.

Life

He entered Prussian service in 1715 and was initially a non-commissioned officer in the Potsdam Infantry Regiment No. 6 . In 1719, however, he was transferred to the No. 2 Kürrasier-Regiment as cornet . There he became lieutenant in 1720 and captain in 1725. On February 26, 1737 he became a knight of the Order of St. John. In 1740 he became major in the Kürrasier Regiment No. 5. With the regiment he took part in the First Silesian War and fought in the Battle of Mollwitz . On August 13, 1743 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and transferred to Dragoon Regiment No. 4 . In the Second Silesian War he was able to distinguish himself in the battles of Hohenfriedberg and Kesselsdorf . He became a colonel on November 1, 1745 and major general on September 2, 1752. In September 1753 he was appointed commander of the Kürrasier Regiment No. 5. In June 1754 he received the prebend of Havelberg and Brandenburg . In 1756 he moved with the regiment to Saxony for the Seven Years' War . On October 1, 1756, a piece of bullet tore him to pieces in the battle of Lobositz . He was buried in the vineyards on the battlefield.
