David Lagercrantz (2015)

David Gunnar Fransiscus Lagercrantz (born September 4, 1962 in Solna ) is a Swedish writer and journalist . He achieved international fame with Ich bin Zlatan: My Story , a biography of the Swedish football player Zlatan Ibrahimović .

Life

Lagercrantz was born in 1962 to Olof Lagercrantz and Martina Ruin. He is the brother of the Swedish actress Marika Lagercrantz . David Lagercrantz grew up in Solna and Drottningholm . He studied philosophy and religious studies . Until 1993, Lagercrantz worked as a crime reporter for the daily Expressen . In 1997 his book Alone on Everest was published about the Swedish mountaineer Göran Kropp . In 2000, Lagercrantz's second book, also a biography, about the Swedish engineer and inventor Håkan Lans was published .

In his first novel The Fall of Man by Wilmslow , Lagercrantz described the English mathematician Alan Turing . In November 2011 I am Zlatan , a biography of the Swedish football player Zlatan Ibrahimović, was published, which, according to Lagercrantz, is based on several hundred hours of interviews with the athlete. The interviews were recorded in Milan . In December 2013 the book publisher Norstedts announced that Lagercrantz had been commissioned to write a sequel to the Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larsson . The novel Conspiracy was published on August 27, 2015. The sequel persecution followed in 2017 .

His older sister, the Swedish actress Marika Lagercrantz, played the role of Cecilia Vanger in the Swedish film adaptation of the first part of the Millennium Trilogy.

In 2018, the film based on his book of the same name, Conspiracy , was published.
