David Navarro Pedrós (born May 25, 1980 in Puerto Sagunto ) is a former Spanish football player .
Career
Navarro came to the first team of Valencia CF at the beginning of the 2002/03 season via the youth and amateur teams.
In the second leg of the Champions League 2007 second leg against Inter Milan , there were tussles on the pitch after the final whistle. Navarro stormed onto the field, although he was not a substitute, and broke Milan's Nicolás Burdisso with a punch in the nose. He was then banned from UEFA on March 14 for a period of seven months. On March 20, 2007, the ban was extended by FIFA to all international matches, but the ban was also reduced to six months. He later apologized to Burdisso via SMS.
He was loaned to RCD Mallorca for the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons . The central defender then played again for Valencia CF for two years and was used in around half of all league games. In the summer of 2011 he made a free transfer to the Swiss Axpo Super League and signed a two-year contract with Neuchâtel Xamax . However, this already lost its validity in January 2012 after Xamax's license had been withdrawn and the club filed for bankruptcy a little later.
On February 13, 2012 Navarro signed a contract until the end of the 2011/12 season with the Spanish first division club UD Levante .
After Levante's relegation to the Segunda División , he moved to the second division AD Alcorcón for the 2016/17 season . There he ended his active career in January 2018 after more than 250 games in the Spanish first division.
