David Jean Nielsen (born December 1, 1976 in Sønderborg ) is a former Danish football player and current coach of Aarhus GF .
origin
Before the birth of her son, David Nielsen's mother had worked as a nurse in Kinshasa , the capital of Zaire , now the Democratic Republic of the Congo , and there she met David's father. Because the cultural differences were too great, the mother returned to Denmark alone while she was still pregnant. David Nielsen was finally born on December 1, 1976 in Sønderborg near the German border and shortly afterwards moved with his mother to Skagen , the northernmost town in Denmark.
Career
Player career
David Nielsen came to Fortuna Düsseldorf in the Bundesliga in Germany in 1996 , where he played 13 games in the first half of the 1996/97 season and scored one goal against Werder Bremen . During the winter break he moved to FC Copenhagen in the Super League . In 1997 he won the Danish Cup with Copenhagen . From 2000 to 2003 Nielsen played for three clubs in England's second division . He then played for Aalborg BK and FC Midtjylland before moving to Norway to start Kristiansand . Further stations in Norway were Strømsgodset IF and Brann Bergen .
Coaching career
From 2014 to 2015 he was a trainer at Strømsgodset IF , after which he received a contract with Lyngby BK . He has been the coach of Aarhus GF since 2017 .
