David Upton (born October 30, 1988 in Sydney ) is a former Australian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Newcastle North Stars in the Australian Ice Hockey League until 2013 .

Career

David Upton began his career as a hockey player with the Brisbane Blue Tongues , for whom he made his debut in the Australian Ice Hockey League in 2005 . For the 2012 season he left the team now called Gold Coast Blue Tongues and joined the Newcastle North Stars , with whom he was able to win the Bauer Conference in his first season , but the playoff final against Melbourne Ice , the winner of the Easton Conference , lost 3: 4. After the 2013 season, he ended his career.

International

For Australia Upton took part in the junior division of the U20 World Championships in 2006 and 2007 in Division II. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2009 and Division II in 2011 , when he was promoted to Division I again.
