David White (makeup artist)

David White (* 1963 ) is a makeup artist and special effects artist who was nominated at the 2015 Academy Awards, along with Elizabeth Yianni-Georgiou, for an Oscar in the category of Best Make-up and Best Hairstyles for his work on Guardians of the Galaxy . He was also nominated for a British Academy Film Award in the Best Mask category for this film together with Yianni-Georgiou . White claims to have started his career at Shepperton Studios at the age of 19 as an assistant to Nick Maley . He then worked for Lyle Conway and at the Elstree Studios before he along with 1995 Sacha Carter the company Carter White FX founded. In 2005 he renamed his company Altered States FX . It is also based at Shepperton Studios.
