Davide Martello (born November 1, 1981 in Lörrach ) is a German-Italian pianist with Sicilian roots who works as a street musician .

Live and act

Martello grew up in Tuningen , between the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb . His father, who encouraged his talent, shared his joy in classical music. At the age of 13 he composed his own pieces. After graduating from secondary school, he trained as a hairdresser in Konstanz . On the weekends he played in hotel bars, applied to a music school in Berlin at the age of 27, but preferred to realize his dream of building his own piano. He bought an old grand piano into which he built speakers and LED lights.

From October 2006 to spring 2010 he developed 17 songs together with Nadja Adam. One of them was published on the CD "Sound of Konstanz".

In 2010 Martello quit the barber shop and went to Berlin. He transports his wing in a car trailer and unloads it with an electric cable before hanging it on his bike and driving the last few meters to his one-man show. He played his first “concert” on Potsdamer Platz. Since 2011 he has been traveling around the world and playing architecturally interesting places with his own compositions. He had already played in 32 countries by 2014. Martello calls his travels "piano art". In December 2012 he played a Christmas concert in a Bundeswehr camp in Afghanistan . In June 2013, during the protests in Turkey , he gave several performances in Taksim Square in Istanbul. Martello also played on the Majdan in Kiev and in front of the government building in the civil war city of Donetsk during the political unrest there. Martello has been referred to in the press as the "angel of peace on the wing". On October 26, 2014, by chance, he got caught up in the riot instigated by hooligans in Cologne and was able to calm the situation down for a while with a spontaneous concert on Breslauer Platz. He also appeared at the demonstration in Hanover on November 15, 2014 for the event “ Hooligans against Salafists ”. One day after the terrorist attacks on November 13, 2015 in Paris , he played the John Lennon song Imagine near the attacked Bataclan concert hall .

His albums were produced in-house in the Konstanz recording studio of his producer Patrick Wind .
