Dayshell is a post-hardcore / alternative rock band from Chino Hills , California , formed in 2012 .

history

Dayshell was originally a musical side project of former Of Mice & Men singer Shayley Bourget and former Covette drummer Raul Martinez. After Bourget left Of Mice & Men in 2012, the project received initial attention. In the summer of the same year, another former Covette musician joined the duo as bassist , Jordan Wooley . In 2013, Tyler Shippy was joined by a guitarist .

Dayshell gained greater attention through a demo version of the song Share with Me , so that the band signed a record deal with Sumerian Records a little later . At the end of 2013, the debut album named after the band was released on the record company.

Shippy and Martinez left Dayshell in 2015. A year later, Zack Baker was a replacement for the drummer position. Dayshell also switched to Spinefarm Records , through which the second studio album Nexus was released in October 2016 . In 2017 Wooley left Dayshell.

Dayshell has played on concert tours with I See Stars , Miss May I , Slaves , Strawberry Girls and Dance Gavin Dance .

style

Dayshell plays a variant of post-hardcore , which can change into metalcore but also into alternative rock . Artists such as Helmet or Deftones are named as musical examples . Even pop music like hooks can be found in the sound of the band.
