Dedham Vale is an Area of ​​Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in England . The area is in East Anglia on the border between Essex and Suffolk . It covers the area of ​​the River Stour between Manningtree and Smallbridge Farm, east of Bures, including the eponymous parish of Dedham in Essex. The River Stour is the key to this valley, the riparian zones in its course form a multitude of wet meadows and habitats. The Dedham Vale also includes areas with old forests, meadows and moors.

Dedham Vale is part of the area also known as "Constable Country". John Constable (1776–1837), who grew up in East Bergholt and Dedham, often described it in his pictures, as did Thomas Gainsborough and Paul Nash . A well-known work by Constable from this area is Dedham Vale in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
