Degerhamn is a municipality belonging to Mörbylånga ( Tatort ) on the Swedish island of Öland in the province of Kalmar län and the historic province of Öland.

The place is in the southwest of the island on Kalmar Sound . Road 136 runs east of the village. Stora Alvaret extends to the east .

economy

Unlike most other places in Öland, Degerhamn has an industrial character. Alum was extracted from Öland slate here as early as 1723 , which was temporarily exported to Russia . The old alum factory is still in ruins.

Today there is a cement factory in Degerhamn . The place also has a fishing port .

Attractions

The Eketorp ramparts, built in the Viking Age , are located on the territory of the municipality .
