action

Antonio is an introverted terrorist from the Basque separatist group ETA who travels to Madrid to carry out an attack. There he meets two comrades from the same terrorist cell, Carlos and Lourdes, in order to plan the attack on a police station. Just like Lourdes, with whom Antonio has a complex romantic relationship, he asks himself about the meaning of his life and he questions the life he has led up to this point.

He lives in a rented apartment and disguises himself as a photographer. He falls in love with his neighbor, the naive and drug addicted prostitute Charo, who lives there with her colleague Vanesa. After Antonio shot a policeman, he spent a few days with her in Granada , where she returned his love. For Antonio, the trip also offers an escape from the commitment to the ETA. After Antonio's identity as a terrorist was published and wanted to find him, he got increasingly distressed. Charo is shocked about Antonio's true identity, but does not reveal him. She takes refuge in the drug intoxication to suppress reality. Charo's friend Lisardo also turns out to be an informant and he reveals Antonio's identity to the corrupt police officer Rafa.

Antonio places a car bomb with 100 kilos of explosives in front of the police station. When Charo is arrested by the police, she arrives sitting in a police car in the immediate vicinity of the bomb. When Antonio sees her being led to the police station, he is horrified. Because of his desperate love and self-destructive nature, Antonio runs towards the police station and Carlos detonates the bomb.
