Deion Jones (* 4. November 1994 in New Orleans , Louisiana ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the middle linebackers . He currently plays for the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Jones went to high school in New Orleans , Louisiana . He later went to Louisiana State University .

NFL

Deion Jones was selected 52nd by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft . On the 3rd day of the following season he scored his first interception in the NFL in the game against the New Orleans Saints after a pass attempt by Drew Brees . He then ran the ball 90 yards into the opposing end zone, which also meant his first touchdown in the NFL. On the 7th day of the season in the game against the San Diego Chargers , he scored the second interception in his career, which he was able to carry back for 42 yards. At the end of his first season, he was making the most tackles on the team. On January 14, 2017 in the 20:34 win against the Seattle Seahawks , he managed his first interception in the NFL play-offs . He reached the Super Bowl LI with the Falcons , but it was lost to the New England Patriots at 28:34 . A season later he was nominated for his consistently good performance for the Pro Bowl .

On September 11, 2018, he was placed on the Injured Reserve List due to a foot injury . On November 13, 2018, he was reassigned to the active squad.

During the 2019 offseason , he signed a new contract with the Falcons that could bring him $ 57 million over four years, including $ 34 million for sure.
