Demarco , real name Colin Demar Edwards (* 1982 in Portmore , Jamaica ), is a Jamaican dancehall and reggae artist, producer and deejay .

Life

Demarco attended Ardenne High School in St. Andrew . There he was in the school's own sound system, which was called "Future Disco". Here he discovered his love and passion for music. Over time, he developed into the main character in the sound system, until he finally appeared in the legendary Cactus Night Club at the age of 15.

In 1998 he left Jamaica and moved to New York. In Baltimore, a friend taught him to make music. At first he didn't have enough money to buy his own equipment. So he looked for several jobs until he finally had enough money to start a home studio.

Demarco is best known for his hits "Duppy Know Ah Who Fi Frighten", "Fallen Soldiers", "True Friends" and "Show It (So Sexy)". He worked with several famous dancehall artists such as B. Bounty Killer and Elephant Man together and produced the Top Speed ​​Riddim in 2004 and the Big League Riddim in 2008. He had his greatest success in 2009 when he produced the Stress Free Riddim, on which not only several well-known musicians released songs, but also landed a hit himself with the song "She Can't Wait".
