Dementia 13 is an American horror film directed by Francis Ford Coppola from 1963.

The film was newly adapted under the direction of Richard LeMay and was released in US cinemas on October 6, 2017.

action

Once a year the Haloran family meets in front of Kathleen's grave. The Haloran's daughter drowned in the castle pond. Your mother couldn't cope with death and went insane. John Haloran dies of a heart attack on a night boat trip. Since his wife Louise does not inherit anything if John dies in front of the lady of the castle, John's mother, she hides her husband's death.

Meanwhile, the other family members have also arrived. Louise plans to drive Lady Haloran to suicide. However, there is also an ax murderer in the castle. After the funeral for Kathleen, Louise wants to hide some of Kathleen's dolls in the pond. When she is done with the preparations, she meets the ax murderer who kills her.

At a meeting at the pond, the puppets are noticed after all. The lady thinks everything is a sign, the other members of the family, especially the eldest son Richard and the doctor who came along, Dr. Caleb realize that someone is planning something bad here. A servant is the next victim of the murderer, Lady Haloran suffers an accident. The pond is drained and a shrine for Kathleen appears. It turns out that Billy is the ax murderer who feels guilty about his sister's death and who went insane. Dr. Caleb shoots the killer.

Coppola was an assistant director on Roger Corman's Fast Cars and Affairs , which was filmed in Ireland . Coppola was allowed to use the same set, the same crew and the same actors (Anders, Campbell and Magee) for his second directorial work.
