Demirözü is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Bayburt in the eastern Black Sea region . The district town of Demirözü ( Merkez ) is about 40 km southwest of Bayburt .
The district is located in the southeast of the province and borders on the provinces of Erzincan and Gümüşhane . In addition to the district town, there is Gökçedere (2,299 inhabitants), another Belediye and 26 Köy (villages), of which the largest ( Beşpinar ) has 433 inhabitants.
