The Demmler Verlag is a publishing company based in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with a regional program. It was founded in 1990 by Margot Krempien in Schwerin and is now part of the green heart publishing group . The main focus is on cultural and national history, fiction , non-fiction, nature and the environment as well as travel titles with a regional focus. The publishing house was named after Georg Adolf Demmler .

Since 2002 the Demmler Verlag has formed the green heart publishing group together with the green heart publishing house from Ilmenau . A book program was developed based on the basic objective of publishing regionalia - to bring the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania closer to tourists and visitors. The main focus is on cultural and national history, fiction, non-fiction, nature and the environment, travel titles. The first authors at Demmler Verlag included Tom Crepon , Ditte Clemens , Brigitte Birnbaum , Jürgen Borchert , Herbert Ewe and Rolf Reinicke .

history

In 1998, a small publishing house with a focus on Regionalia Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was opened in Schwerin, and it existed until 2001.

In 2002 Demmler Verlag was re-founded under Lutz Gebhardt as Demmler Verlag GmbH and "synergistically" linked with his card publisher green heart . Existing series were expanded beyond their north German core and new series started without regional reference.

In the summer of 2009, the publishing house relocated from the state capital Schwerin to Ribnitz-Damgarten.

Publishing program

One focus is the regional connection to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The program includes around 80 available titles. These include photo books by photographers Rolf Reinicke and Rico Nestmann on coastal landscapes, regions and cities and on topics such as animals and birds in the Baltic Sea. In addition, the publisher is issuing a cultural-historical, multi-volume series with works by " Heinrich Seidel ", "Alexandrine", "Mecklenburgs Grand Dukes" and an Ernst Barlach series by Brigitte Birnbaum, Ditte Clemens and Tom Crepon.
