Denílson Martins Nascimento or just Denilson (born September 4, 1976 in Salvador da Bahia ) is a Brazilian soccer player who is currently under contract with Red Bull Brasil .
Career
At the beginning of his career, Denilson played for a year at the Brazilian amateur club Camaçari FC , the Dutch first division club Feyenoord Rotterdam , the French first division club Paris Saint-Germain and the Portuguese second division club União Lamas .
He then played for three years with Al Shabab in the United Arab Emirates until he moved to league rivals Dubai SC in 2002 . Denilson stayed in the league and signed with Al-Nasr SC in 2004 .
After a short stay with the Mexican first division club Atlas Guadalajara , he moved in March 2006 for three months to the South Korean club Daejeon Citizen , which then offered him a one and a half year contract, which he also signed. Thanks to his unusual celebrations, imitating a slapstick stunt by a Korean comedian , he became very popular in South Korea.
Therefore he stayed in the country and in 2008 moved to competitor Pohang Steelers , where he was able to celebrate his greatest successes. After winning the Korean FA Cup with his club in 2008 , he won the K-League Cup and the AFC Champions League in 2009 with a 2-1 win over al-Ittihad . The Pohang Steelers were thus entitled to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup , where they reached 3rd place and Denilson was the top scorer with 4 goals. Together with Lionel Messi, he is still the record scorer in the Club World Cup. In addition, Denilson was voted into the “best team” of the season in 2009 ( K-League Best XI ).
He then only made brief stops at the Uzbek club Bunyodkor Tashkent and the Brazilian clubs Mogi Mirim and Guarani FC before moving back to Dubai SC in 2012 .
