Josef Grolimund

Josef Grolimund (born March 17, 1909 in Erschwil , canton Solothurn , † February 22, 2006 in Laufen , canton Basel-Landschaft , resident in Erschwil and Beinwil ) was a Swiss politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP).

Life

Grolimund, son of a farmer , graduated after attending the district school in Breitenbach a vocational training for mechanics and was subsequently used as a toolmaker and foremen working.

Grolimund began his political career in local politics and between 1945 and 1961 was a municipality ammann of Erschwil. In addition, he was elected a member of the Cantonal Council of Solothurn in 1953 and represented the Free Democratic Party there until 1969.

On December 7, 1959, he was also elected for the first time as a member of the National Council as a candidate of the FDP and belonged to it as a representative of the Canton of Solothurn until November 30, 1975. Grolimund, who was also chairman of the Free Workers' Association of the Canton of Solothurn between 1967 and 1980, dealt with issues of employee and social policy during his long membership in parliament .
