Denis Igorewitsch Jeschow ( Russian Денис Игоревич Ежов ; born February 28, 1985 in Tolyatti , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with CS Progym Gheorgheni since July 2018 .
Career
Denis Jeschow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the HK Lada Tolyatti , for whose professional team he made his debut in the super league in the 2001/02 season . He remained pointless in 15 games and received six penalty minutes. In the following season he played for Lada's second team in the third-class Perwaja Liga , while he ran parallel for the ZSK WWS Samara in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. He then played for two years in the super league for Metallurg Novokuznetsk .
After Jeschow was in the 2005/06 season for Atlant Mytishchi in the super league on the ice, he played for two years for his league rivals HK tractor Chelyabinsk . From 2008 to 2010, the former junior international competed with HK Awangard Omsk in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . For the 2010/11 season , the Russian moved within the KHL to his ex-club Traktor Chelyabinsk, before he was signed by Amur Khabarovsk a year later .
For Amur he completed 45 KHL games until November 2012 before his contract was terminated. A few days later he was again obliged by Metallurg Novokuznetsk and completed 32 KHL games for the club by the end of the season. Then he returned to Amur.
International
For Russia , Jezhov took part in the U18 Junior World Championships in 2002 and 2003 and the U20 Junior World Championships in 2003 , 2004 and 2005 . With the U18 juniors, he won the silver medal in 2002 and the bronze medal in 2003, with four assists as a defender with the most assists at the 2003 U18 World Cup. At the U20 World Cup in 2003, Jeschow and his country finally became world champions and in 2005 they were runner-up in the U20 World Cup.
