Denise Patricia Byrne Kingsmill, Baroness Kingsmill CBE (born April 24, 1947 in Rotorua , Bay of Plenty , New Zealand ) is a British economic manager and Labor Party politician who has been a Life Peeress member of the House of Lords since 2006 .

Life

Denise Kingsmill, which as a child with her parents in Wales immigrated, graduated after attending the School Croesyceiliog one Studied anthropology and economics at Girton College of the University of Cambridge . After studying law , she worked as a solicitor in a law firm , where she focused on labor law .

Between 1997 and 2003 she was Vice-Chairwoman of the Commission on Monopolies and Mergers, the forerunner of the later Competition Commission, and during this time became Commander of the Order of the British Empire .

Denise Kingsmill was raised to the nobility by a letters patent dated June 1, 2006 as a life peeress with the title Baroness Kingsmill , of Holland Park in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea . Shortly thereafter took place on 15 June 2006 its introduction ( Introduction ) as a member of the House of Lords . In the House of Lords she belongs to the Labor Party faction .

She also performs several functions in the private sector and is a member of the Supervisory Board resulting from the merger of British Airways and Iberia incurred airline International Airlines Group and plc APR Energy. Since 5 May 2011, Baroness Kingsmill, also a columnist for the business daily Management Today and deputy chairman of the advisory board of PricewaterhouseCoopers is also a member of the Supervisory Board of E.ON .
