Dennis Vincent Durning

Dennis Vincent Durning CSSp (born May 18, 1923 in Germantown , † February 21, 2002 ) was Bishop of Arusha .

Life

Dennis Vincent Durning joined the Spiritan Order and was ordained a priest on June 3, 1949 .

Pope John XXIII appointed him on March 1, 1963 Bishop of Arusha . He received his episcopal ordination from the Archbishop of Philadelphia , John Joseph Krol , on May 28 of the same year; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops in Philadelphia Francis James Furey and Gerald Vincent McDevitt .

He participated in the second to fourth session of the Second Vatican Council . He resigned from his office on March 6, 1989.
