The SFD '75 Düsseldorf (officially: SFD '75 - Association for Sport and Leisure from 1975 Düsseldorf-Süd eV ) is a sports club from Düsseldorf . The first women's soccer team once took part in the final round of the German championship.

history

The club was created in 1975 through the merger of the clubs Tura Holthausen and SC Reisholz as well as parts of the former factory sports group of the Henkel company . With over 3,000 members, it is one of the largest sports clubs in the city. In addition to football, the club also offers badminton , basketball , leisure and health , handball , judo , coronary sports , athletics , chess , table tennis , gymnastics and volleyball .

The soccer players of the SFD '75 became Lower Rhine champions in 1981 and broke through the years of dominance of KBC Duisburg . In the first round of the German championship, they narrowly prevailed against VfL Wittekind Wildeshausen from Lower Saxony . The end came in round two against TuS Wörrstadt . Four years later, the team failed to qualify for the newly created first-class Regionalliga West . In 1990, the team managed to get promoted there, with the regional league only being second class after the simultaneous introduction of the Bundesliga . After 13 game days of the 1990/91 season, the team was withdrawn. The club does not currently provide a women's team.

The first men's team last appeared in the district league B in the 2015/16 season. The division produced a third division player in Jeron Al-Hazaimeh .
