The worst pain is a 90-minute episode of the German- Austrian television series Der Bergdoktor by ZDF and ORF . It is the fifth episode of the ninth season . Axel Barth directed, the script was written by Philipp Roth and Marc Hillefeld.

The first broadcast was on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 on ORF 2 , the German first broadcast one day later, on January 21, on ZDF.

After suddenly weakness, Mrs. Jäger from the insurance company needs a doctor, which Dr. Gruber made a home visit. She promises to take care of the Anne Meierling and Distelmeierhof case quickly.

Her son Lukas notices Martin and Rike's closeness to one another, which also causes him to have a tantrum due to his borderline syndrome. Martin is surprised that Lukas lives in a supervised facility because Rike could no longer get along with him. Martin considers a thyroid disorder, which could explain Rike's partial weakness. He and Luke begin to get along well.

Hans explains to his family that he unfortunately sees no future for the Gruber's farm and is considering a sale, with which he could become a partner in Peters Bergführung, which he enjoys. Lisbeth does not see this and is therefore very angry.

The German premiere on January 21, 2016 on ZDF followed a total of 7.1 million viewers, which corresponded to a market share of an outstanding 21.5% of the total audience and was the highest value of the season. Among the younger ones between 14 and 49 years of age, 1.06 million (9.1% market share) tuned in.
