The Taste of Life is a German feature film by Roland Reber and Mira Gittner from 2017 . The film celebrated its world premiere at the 51st Hofer Filmtage 2017, as well as its international premiere at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF) in Belgium 2018.

Like 24/7 The Passion of Life (2005) at the film production company WTP International, the film was made in an “uncontrolled open space where no public funding flows, but also where no broadcaster editors exercise any normative influence”. The Taste of Life was shown for the first time at the 2017 Hof Film Festival. After 24/7 The Passion of Life (2005), Angels with Dirty Wings (2009), The Truth of Lies (2011) and Illusion (2013), the latest of a total of nine feature films from the wtp forge will also celebrate its world premiere on the 51st Hof International Film Festival.
Like all productions of wtp international, the taste of life was created without funding and with the creativity and commitment of all those involved, with a small team and a diverse distribution of tasks within the ensemble. Filmed with ARRI Alexa, the film had its theatrical release on February 22, 2018 and will be released on October 26, 2018 on BluRay, DVD and for the first time on online platforms.
From the idea to the film
“We're making a film this year.” That was the first idea. And it was June 1st. "Who wants to take part?" After the cast had been established, the idea for the script began. It shouldn't be a narrative film. There should be no explanations. "I then rummaged through Roland's text archive for inspiration and found so many texts that were far too good to gather dust in the box."
