content

Simon ekes out his unlucky existence. He had to drop out of his architecture studies for health reasons. His girlfriend cheats on him with the flatmate.

Since he thinks he recognizes his own design in a public building project, he intends to sue the responsible architect and first tries to confront him. Instead of factual argumentation, he chooses aggressive confrontation. The mentioned Vincent Poirel, a successful managing director of a construction company, feels wrongly attacked, especially since Simon's rude choice of words also irritates him. The security guards who were called remove Simon from the office building. In order to be able to escape, he tears himself free and runs into the street, where he causes a traffic accident and succumbs to his injuries. At that moment Poirel's son was born in a hospital. Simon's soul slips into his body and tries to make life difficult for his father, a former student colleague, from day one.

background

The filming for the film took place in Paris and Madrid. The budget was around 12 million euros. The little shit celebrated its premiere on October 14, 2003 at the Saint-Jean-de-Luz film festival in the coastal town of the same name . It was released in German cinemas a year and a half later, on January 20, 2005.

It was a great challenge for the filmmakers to use a real baby as the title character, who can be seen for 45 minutes of the total playing time. The corresponding filming was moved from Paris to Madrid because the French youth protection laws only allow a filming time of one hour per day with babies and toddlers. The Spanish legislature, however, allows four hours. In addition, many effects were computer animated.

The literal translation of the original title is "Evil Spirit".

criticism

The online platform Cinema draws the following conclusion: "The screamer from France is not always sure of taste, but ultimately charming."

The editorial staff of 20minutos sees the comedy only as a superfluous copy of Look who's speaking! , which may be able to cheer up French audiences and should be reserved for them.

Prisma magazine draws a devastating verdict by calling the film, apart from the good cast, a failure. The nonsense is too flat and trite.

The lexicon of international films says: "The comedy, staged without any delicacy, wastes its satirical potential through flat gags and disappoints both dramatically and staged."
