Derek Drymon

Derek Drymon (* 1965 in Jefferson , New Jersey ) is an American director , film producer and screenwriter .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1987, Drymon trained as an illustrator at the New York School of Visual Arts . He then worked as an animator for Disney before moving to California to work for the television network Nickelodeon .

In 1993 he worked on Rocko's modern life and met Tim Hill and Stephen Hillenburg in the process. For his work on the episode Doggone series Catdog he was nominated for the Annie Award nominations. From 1999 to 2004 Drymon was creative director for Hillenburg's hit series SpongeBob SquarePants and was nominated for an Emmy in 2003 and 2004 respectively . He was also the producer of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie for which he also contributed some titles for the soundtrack . From 1996 he worked on the storyboards for Hey Arnold! .
