Ana Derșidan-Ene-Pascu (born September 22, 1944 in Bucharest as Ana Ene ) is a former Romanian foil fencer .

Life

Ana Pascu achieved her most international successes in team competition. In 1969 she became world champion in this in Havana and took second place in Ankara in 1970 . Four more bronze medals followed by 1975. In singles she won her only championship medal in Vienna in 1971 with bronze. Pascu participated in four Olympic Games . 1964 in Tokyo she was ninth in the individual and finished fifth with the team. In the team competition in Mexico City in 1968 , she moved into the semi-finals with Olga Szabó-Orbán , Ileana Gyulai , Ecaterina Iencic and Maria Vicol , in which the Romanian team lost to Hungary . In the battle for bronze she then prevailed against France . Also at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , she completed the team competition on the bronze rank. In the individual, she was eliminated in the first round. Four years later in Montreal she finished 28th in the individual and seventh in the team competition.

She ended her active career in 1976 and had a son in 1981. The following year she became President of the Romanian Fencing Association , an office that she held until 2013. She was then appointed honorary president of the association. Since 2004 she has been Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee of Romania , she also held various offices in the World Fencing Federation and is still a Vice-President of its Executive Committee. For her services she received the Commander's Cross of the Order for Merit in Romania . In 2000 she completed her dissertation in sports science .
